KenRemind solves a problem many Ethiopians experience every day: we remember important life dates in the Ethiopian Calendar, but our phones, work tools, and notification systems usually operate in the Gregorian Calendar. That creates friction around simple but important things — rent, electricity bills, internet bills, apartment utility payments, birthdays, family events, public holidays, work deadlines, and personal responsibilities. People often have to manually convert dates, double-check calendars, or rely on memory, which makes it easy to miss something important. KenRemind fixes this by giving Ethiopians and the Ethiopian diaspora a reminder system built around how they naturally remember dates. Users can create reminders directly using Ethiopian Calendar dates, while the app handles the conversion and notification timing in the background. It also shows today’s date in both EC and GC through widgets, converts dates both ways, displays public holidays, syncs with the user’s preferred calendar, supports English and Amharic, and protects private reminders with biometric lock. Beyond just reminding users, KenRemind also helps them become more reliable. The Reliability Score gives users a grounded view of how consistently they complete reminders on time. The goal is simple: help people remember life, the Ethiopian way — without mental calendar conversion, missed bills, forgotten birthdays, or scattered reminders.
